We Need To Be REMINDED More Than We Need To Be TAUGHT

It's true.


We need to be reminded


More than we need to be taught.


Most of us know what we should be doing,


But we often need a little push.


I’ve talked with a number of leaders recently about doing the work to better understand their customers.


The recurring theme in their comments is easy to spot.


“As a business owner, I know we have to do this, but we just never get around to it.”


“We talk about it as a group but haven’t done a deep dive.”


“That’s something we need to work on, especially given these past few years.”


Using customer insights and data to guide marketing (and other) decisions and strategies is certainly not a revolutionary concept.


It’s business 101, actually.


And while it’s a standard operating procedure for many exceptional companies,


Many others overlook it. They need a reminder.


So, here it is (again):


Whoever gets (and stays) closest to the customer - wins.


This means gaining and maintaining clarity around:


✅ Who YOUR ideal customers are,


✅ What they want, need, and believe,


✅ Why they choose YOU over other options,


✅ How & where to communicate with them, and


✅ How to influence their purchase behaviors.


Take some time to honestly assess how close you are to your ideal customers.


You may realize that there’s much you don’t know.


If so, don’t put off doing the work to get the answers you need.


Your success and long-term sustainability depend on it.
